Steven Koehler, Managing Director
E-mail Steve at steve@lafayettecivic.org

Steven returns to Lafayette (he spent most of his childhood living in Lafayette and his mother Pam Koehler is the Children's Librarian at West Lafayette Pubic Library) from Lexington Kentucky; where he was managing director of Actors Guild of Lexington.  Previous to that Steven was the Manager of Operations for Theatre IV (Virginia's largest theatre and one of the nations largest theatres for young audiences) and Barksdale Theatre.  As part of the senior management Steven was critical in the historic merging of operations of these two companies, which now operate with a single staff.

Steven is also a professional lighting designer, having designed more than 80 shows in his career, most recently The Full Monty for Barksdale Theatre.  For his efforts Steven has 5 times been recognized as "Best Lighting Designer" in central Virginia.

Steven is married to talented musician Shellie Johnson and is the proud father of Elena (15), James (8) and Mollie (5).  Steven also serves on the Board of Directors for Wabash Valley youth Symphony, is on the planning committee for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Lafayette Chapter, and is a leader in his sons Cub Scout Pack.

Lori Portner, Director of Education and Outreach
E-mail Lori at Lori@lafayettecivic.org

Lori was born and raised in the Midwest and most recently lived in La Crosse Wisconsin where she worked for 13 years as Education Director for the La Crosse Community Theatre.  She received her BA in Theatre, English and Speech Communication from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and has continued her education in New York.  Through the years she has directed over 65 shows and has had the privilege of teaching countless students of all ages about theatre performance and production.  In addition to community theatre, Lori has directed and taught at universities, high schools, middle schools and elementary schools in Western Wisconsin.

Lori is mom to an amazing son, Blais, mother-in-law to a terrific daughter, Rachel, and grandma to the most precious 14 month old on the planet, Simon.

Make a point to meet Lori soon if you haven't had the opportunity to do so.
